About SVJFF Organization

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, SVJFF's mission is to spark a community dialogue around entertainment, art, politics, society and global issues through film. The SVJFF is a dynamic, exciting, and growing organization. Last year, its 26th year of existence, the SVJFF had an attendance of 8,000 and 41 screenings.

We do this by managing a fall film festival as well as scheduling films throughout the year with venues currently located in San Jose and Palo Alto. We surround film screenings with events such as post-film concerts, lectures, and discussions to enhance the cinematic experience and promote partnerships with community groups. We conduct outreach programs for groups currently underrepresented at SVJFF events (such as students, senior citizens, and people with limited mobility). We utilize multiple theatre venues to reach a geographically dispersed audience. Finally, we use film as a vehicle to advance learning, enrich understanding of cultural differences, and enhance mutual tolerance.
